Picking a portable charger
Understand capacity, ports, charging speeds, and travel considerations.
Portable chargers are easiest to compare when you understand both energy capacity and output power.
What to compare
1. Capacity
mAh ratings alone do not tell you how many full charges you will get. Conversion losses reduce real-world output.
2. Ports and power
Look for USB-C input/output, power delivery ratings, and whether power is shared between ports.
3. Travel and safety
Check airline rules for lithium batteries and buy from brands that provide clear safety specifications.
Match the charger to your actual devices rather than buying the largest number on the box.
